Waning Moon

Just over six months ago, you made a collage and offered it to Brigid, patroness of creativity and healing. Do you still have that collage? Do you recall the theme -- one of your little hopes, ready to be fanned into life?

Now is the time of early harvest. If you imagine the year as a wheel, this week is directly opposite Brigid's time of winter incubation. You've heard the phrase "you reap what you sow." Your collage was the seed you sowed. Around you now should be some early evidence of that seed come to fruition. It's not likely to be the full whammy manifestation at this point, but there is sure to be a hint, more than a whisper.

Pull out your collage tonight and take a look at the images your subconscious chose to represent your intention. How are these symbols showing up in your life? Take a few minutes to free write your observations and reflections.

A waning moon is a time of letting go, of releasing. This night, challenge yourself to give away one of the early fruits of your Brigid-assisted harvest. A wise teacher once told me that a new potter should give away her first pot to honor the spirits. It is a symbol of gratitude, of affirming there's more to come.

If the theme of your Brigid ritual was about a skill or craft, you could gift someone with your creation or service. If your theme was about personal development, you could assist someone else working with the same theme. If your theme was about a relationship, you could give your partner some time and attention.

The magic of give-away is that involves someone other than ourselves. By including others in the fabric of our intention, it becomes a stronger weave.

Brainstorm your give-away on paper. Let your thoughts flow freely onto the page. Be creative. After all, that's one of Brigid's talents. When an idea strikes you as "right", circle it. Choose one of your circled ideas and commit to do it this week. Just one offering is all you need to feed the soil and ensure a bountiful later harvest for your intention.

My theme was "awesomeness." My give-away is to dance a sunrise dance for my partner as an expression of awesomeness flowing through me.

Offer up your own words of thanks to Brigid or use these:

I thank you for your assistance.
May it continue with persistence.

Close your ritual by clapping three times to honor this triple goddess.

After the ritual, share your experience in our community section.
