Waxing Moon

What is ripe in your life? What is ripe, sweet and juicy? C'mon. There's something sweet and luscious. Maybe it's on the outskirts of your vision, beckoning from the periphery. It's there, just maybe not at the center of your attention.

Tonight's ritual asks that you locate the juicy ripeness in your life and put it at the front of your awareness. To do this with proper respect to the season and the moon's waxing cycle, you'll need a round fruit -- something you like, of course. It's best if it's got a smooth skin, but more important is that you enjoy its taste. You'll also need a clean stickpin.

What in your life is as tasty as this amazing gift from the earth? A relationship? A recent promotion? Your incredible creativity? Your friendships? Your finances?

If life feels completely parched, then what juiciness would your heart have you conjure?

Whether you would use this waxing moon to manifest some juice in an otherwise dry and dusty life or to celebrate a life so juicy it practically squeezes itself, here's how to proceed:

Use your stickpin to inscribe on the flesh of your fruit the ripeness you desire or that's already delicious in your life.

For those of you who are in the manifestation, not celebration, mode, here are some words to the wise when it comes to wish-craft: First, be general enough to allow the universe to provide what is best for you. Second, don't use your magic to affect anyone else's free will. It's poor etiquette, and it could come back to haunt you. Keep your intention clean. Wishing for a juicy sexy life is fine. Wishing for a juicy sex life with Jim is not. Even if Jim is your lover, he's not the one doing this ritual, so leave his name out of it.

Once you've written onto your fruit, hold it with a feeling of gratitude. From bud to blossom to fruit goes the cycle of life. Savor the full round feeling of this summer's harvest. It is substantial. It is real. It is yours. Take a bite. Let the juices run down your chin. Eat as much as like. Bury the seeds in your garden or a nearby park. By returning the seeds to soil, you allow this juiciness to return to you in great abundance.

May your life continue to be blessed with such sweetness.
